"This apartment was very relaxing and extremely comfortable. Kids used the pool everyday, roof top BBQ's were a must! Beautiful beach and associated waters. Try the short boat trip to La Manga (Daily each hour) - from the short pier towards the old town. Restaurants are lovely. Penny Farthing great for kids, especially cooked breakfasts! Bayside and Angela's Good for Pasta and Pizza - worth booking for large parties when eating late.
Took road train to old town of Los Alcázares (every 1 hour from 19.15 outside Angela''s Pizza Restaurant). Local markets excellent - good for kids spending their money.
A most enjoyable place and relaxing holiday all in all. Enjoy!" The Burgess Family

"Accommodation - Simply magnificent - the finest holiday property we have ever stayed in. The layout and facilities meant there were no compromises on comfort and made it truly feel home from home.
Complex - Clean, well laid out and the pool was never overcrowded. Above all, a place where kids were always safe.
Resort - Decidedly Spanish and all the better for it. Less commercialised than traditional spots but no shortage of facilities and amenities.
Food - Small but varied choice of restaurants offering local, English and international cuisine. Having so many kids with bizarre food fads, we gravitated most warmly to Big Ben at the bottom of the main drag with an extensive and cheap menu but with huge portions. Had excellent meals too at Bayside, La Diva and Penny Farthing.
Beach - The Mar Menor is ideal for children with its shallow, warm waters and the beach, although busy is sandy and safe. Yes, on occasions it was very wind and meant that those in possession of an inflatable found themselves on a collision course with early evening Ryanair from Stansted! It has to be said however that the breezes were a blessed relief from the relentless sunshine and intense heat.
Overall View We have had a fabulous time and would recommend both the accommodation and resort. It is certainly not a place to burn the candle at both ends but for those with families, especially young children we have visited few better spots.
One final tip - there is a distinct lack of signs and information relating to the cashing of travellers cheques. Thanks to the helpful people at The Post Room. We changed ours at Caja Murcia (adjacent to the hotel at the dual carriageway) at a reasonable 2% commission.
Thanks to Bill and Martine - we hope to return" The Yates Family

"The accommodation was recommended to us by friends who visited in February and it lived up to our expectations. There is lots of living space which was needed with 5 adults!
Los Alcázares is a lovely resort which we found to have a real traditional feel to it. It had all that we wanted; restaurants, bars etc. Penny Farthing was a hit with us all, good portions etc. The Celt Bar was probably busiest in evenings for a drink. Although the "Pasty Shack" food was good, they weren't very "hasty with the pasties!"; service was extremely poor.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back next year. Martine was the hostess with the mostest, responding to our needs both before & during our stay! Thank you." The Flynns

"Santiago de la Ribera is a must, only 10 minutes drive away. Bayside restaurant - superb.
A relaxing week, enjoyed by all. Will recommend to friends."
