“Had a fantastic week in Los Alcazares – spent last week up the road in Los Urrutias but in a much smaller apartment. Have really enjoyed the space here and with everything in walking distance the week has been really relaxing.

- Been Jet Skiing in Punta Brava - €70 Euros for 30 mins. Signs off the main road.

- The festival and night market were a welcome bonus, by they finish on the 24th August

- Mercadona supermarket is a must for the fish counter – stunning

- Hire pedalos on the beach - €12 Euros for 1 hour and slide into the sea – kid heaven!!

- Weather quite incredible – 35 degrees during the day and 24 at night. The ceiling fans were a godsend!

Had friends in another apartment on this complex so we had a very social week.

The apartment has everything you could want – brilliantly equipped – no flies or ants seem to have entered the threshold at all – a real problem in our 1st week at the other apartment!

Thanks for a great week, we will definitely be back.”

"We have all thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to this part of Spain.

Excellent accommodation and perfect location for shops, beach and restaurant. Great not to have any noise, local music etc. A really peaceful and relaxing week.

Had some excellent meals but El Patio was our favourite by some distance!

Would return next week if we could but it will have to be next year if we can wait that long.

"Can't think of too many things that haven't been said in previous entries.

This is an excellent apartment in a great location. For anybody looking for a holiday by the sea, but at an apartment with a great pool, close to shops, bars, restaurants, banks...and the airport....this is perfect.

We've tried most of the restaurants mentioned in this book and in the apartment guide. We haven't discovered a favourite...they're all perfectly fine restaurants. In terms of local supermarkets, Mercadona in the square is the nearest and the best, but for one that is open more often...turn left out of the apartment, up to the roundabout and turn right. Over 1st roundabout and supermarket is on right (yellow and green.)"

"Lovely apartment with a Spanish feel to the furnishings. Martine & Bill are excellent hosts and fulfilled many of our requests which were above and beyond. First holiday ever without hiring a car which certainly keeps you fit! It was great just walking to restaurants.

Martine's recommendations for Spanish food were spot on. We especially loved the ambiance, service and creative food presentation of La Encarnacion (3 times).

For our first week we had our son and grandchildren in the apartment next door. The beach and sea were just perfect for a 3.5 and 1.5 year old.

We will definitely return and next time hire a car to explore the coast."

"This has been a lovely return visit to this apartment. Just as spacious and well maintained as we remembered. Unfortunately the weather hasn't been great - but we kept busy!

The mirrors are a welcome addition, as is the clock, but the best is definitely the non-breakable glasses! We have already booked for next summer, so hasta luego!"

"We have a very relaxing week. An extremely well-equipped apartment - the boys loved the cricket on Sky Sports! Swimming pool is fab!

There is a helpful lady at the tourist kiosk on the beach at Los Narejos. She speaks very good English (although she is Argentinian!) Don't withdraw cash from cash machine next to the super-market - they charge 2.5%. The one on the corner next to 525 Hotel doesn't charge.

Don't bother going to La Manga del Mar Menor - built up. Off to try out the Aquatic & Safari Park near Murcia today.

"We all enjoyed it very much. All the facilities are very new (there are even indoor showers if you want to get properly clean after being in the water park). We enjoyed seeing the animals. I would suggest people go early in the day before it gets too hot and the animals get sleepy. There is a restaurant if you don't want to bother with a picnic."

"Everything about this place is perfect for us - the apartment is spacious and well equipped - loved all the balconies and the roof terrace although it has been too hot to do anything up there apart from dry the washing! The pool has been wonderful to cool off in, and never too busy.

The town is so handy with supermarkets and restaurants within easy walking distance, we especially liked Penny Farthing and the El Valero Chinese restaurant.

p.s. Mirrors in the bedrooms would be great, maybe a clock too, but still the apartment is great."

A wonderful fortnight!! We found it a very relaxing holiday. The shops and restaurants were very convenient within walking distance. We enjoyed a drink at the beach bars in the evening. We ate at El Patio II and El Valero (Chinese Restaurant) and they were all very good.

The apartment was spacious enough for the five of us. Our three children loved the swimming pool and we all enjoyed sitting on the balconies in the shade to cool down.

It has been very hot here but there has most days been a lovely cool refreshing breeze. Thank you very much."

Having 'discovered' the benefits of Los Alcazares and El Divino in 2006 we decided to return. We have no regrets. The accommodation and location are ideal for a truly relaxing and enjoyable holiday. We don't normally return to holiday places but the very distinct advantages of this holiday base have been very much appreciated.

For fellow holiday-makers Alicante is worth a visit and in not an inconvenient distance. About 50 minutes driving. A nice town and pleasing waterfront to enjoy.

The Aqualandia Water Park at Benidorm is further(1.5-2hrs)but recommended for all ages."

"I didn't think it was possible to have a relaxing holiday with an 18 month old and a 5 year old. I was wrong. A fabulous apartment in a fabulous town. Every meal we have eaten out has been of a really high standard but we recommend:-

Bayside - Outstanding. Panfried Chicken with dates and figs is delicious.

Penny Farthing - Not had a bad meal here, perfect for lunchtime.

Cafe Alba - Best tapas in the area, all homemade.

Pasty Shack - Gorgeous pasties which are great for taking to the beach.

We have all been trying to think of a negative about the holiday tonight, we cannot think of one. Apartment, pool, beach, everything - excellent. Thank you. We will be back."

"This apartment is close to the shores of the Mar Menor and provides a perfect holiday base for families with children. The apartment was exceptionally clean, very spacious, well equipped and stylish too. Hosts Martine & Bill very helpful too. The nearby beaches are so clean and well catered with small cafes right on the beach serving tasty fresh food for lunch (English food or Tapas if you like to be a bit more adventurous.) Facilities on beach such as sun loungers and showers are in plentiful supply.

Great selection of restaurants nearby - we enjoyed Ramon's in the old town for fresh fish, El Patio for a good helping of meat, the Asian restaurant (although service slow!)

Would definitely consider coming back (hopefully in better weather!) as we feel very relaxed and rested after our week here" Jo & Andy Neate
